Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park cherry blossoms in Kyoto

Plum blossoms are now in season in Kyoto, and cherry blossom time is just around the corner.
In 2026, Kyoto’s Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms are expected to bloom around late March, similar to or slightly earlier than the annual average (around March 26). Current forecasts predict flowering between March 25–27, with full bloom around April 3.

We have two locations in central Kyoto — Shijo-Karasuma and Karasuma-Oike — both offering convenient access to major cherry blossom spots by foot or subway. Enjoy hanami and dinner smoothly in one perfect route.

🌸 Nijo Castle Sakura Festival 2026

Event Period: March 19 (Thu) – April 19 (Sun), 2026

Held at the World Heritage site Nijo Castle, this annual spring event is one of Kyoto’s highlights. In addition to daytime admission, a special evening illumination event,
“Nijo Castle 2026 SAKURA NIGHTS”, will also take place.

A vast, peaceful park rich in nature. The weeping cherry blossoms near the Konoe Residence ruins bloom early and are especially beautiful. Ideal for those seeking a quieter hanami experience.

Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park cherry blossoms in Kyoto

Kyoto’s most iconic cherry blossom destination. The famous Gion weeping cherry tree is breathtaking, especially when illuminated at night. Combined with Yasaka Shrine, this area represents the very essence of spring in Kyoto.
